Heritage Walk
As part of the sunflower schools charitable events we are organizing a walk called heritage walk from sunflower schools the Nassarawa children home on 16th October 2015. This is a way of installing a love for the needy and les privilege children in the society into our own children. Making them more compassionate, focused and hard working.
Our charity funds raised on the achievers daywill be used in buying books for these les privileged children. We would like each child to bring whatever they want to give out to these children (food , clothes, shoes, toiletries, money etc) all parents are welcome to joint us in making this day a beautiful memorable days.
Here all the pupils and their parents will be ground to compete in
different sports activities.
Children's Day Colour Party
Children’s day come every 27th of may in Nigeria. The sunflower schools will be celebrating the children day in the them of colour party. The children will be dressed in a colour theme and the parents will provide them with edible fruits and vegetable of these colour theme to share with friends.
The colour to be worn and the fruits to be provided by each child / parent will be decided by the school authority in the appropriate time.
The party
will take place in the school premises with games and lots of other
entertainments.
Spelling bee
This is a competition where the pupils will be given list of words to learn which are divided into three levels and the finalist gets to compete on the last day of the spelling bee. Awards will be given to the winners.
Sports Day
The Sunflower schools 4th Annual sports day was a huge success, with the impeccable timing of parents it started beautifully and ended with the GREEN house as the winning team. Pupils and staff put in their best and were able to bring the best in all athletes.
House owners Hauwa Tukur for BLUE, Zainab Dambazau for GREEN as well as Hassana Daku for YELLOW houses were remarkable in supporting their house members in achieving excellence.
We look forward to more sports and a bigger competition next
year.
Achievers Day
As part of the sunflower schools annual tradition, we engage
the kids in different activities to showcase their talents and all
they have learnt throughout the season. Activities include: Book
Fair, cultural dance, Games, Awards presentation, Cultural display
& lots more
Magazine
In
this first edition of the sunflower schools magazine, we have
featured interesting articles on “how to raise children it his
everlasting changing world”, “potty training” and one of the most
interesting practice in school by grade four pupils, “How to rear
broiler chickens” find our teachers fun kids recipes, crossword
puzzles, games, riddles, jokes and health tips.
Bookfair
Every year the Chelis Bookazine and sunflower schools organises a
book fair that encourages children in reading and having a love for
books. As readers are leaders, the programme engages children
in learning about different fields that will give them career
choices at an early stage
